Enrichment Programs at Clarence Ruth Elementary

At Clarence Ruth, we are proud to offer a variety of enrichment programs that support the whole child—academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. We believe that learning should be joyful, meaningful, and accessible to all students. These engaging experiences help make our school a vibrant and welcoming place for every learner.

  1. Weekly Library Visits
Our students enjoy regular visits to the school library, where they can check out books, listen to read-alouds, and explore new stories that spark imagination. We are committed to building a love of literacy in both English and Spanish by offering a growing selection of bilingual and culturally relevant books. These visits support early literacy development and encourage students to become lifelong readers and thinkers.

  2. Gardening Program
Through our school garden, students engage in hands-on learning about plants, healthy food, and the natural world. From planting seeds to harvesting vegetables, students take part in every step of the process. Gardening fosters curiosity, responsibility, and collaboration while teaching important lessons about sustainability and nutrition.

  3. Physical Education (PE)
Our PE program helps students stay active, build confidence, and learn the value of teamwork and perseverance. With a focus on fun, movement, and skill-building, students participate in a range of games and physical challenges that support physical wellness and positive social interaction.

  4. Music Enrichment
In music class, students explore rhythm, melody, and sound through singing, instruments, and creative expression. Music offers a joyful way to build listening skills, coordination, and confidence. It also gives students the opportunity to express themselves and experience the power of working together through performance and play.
